Through different initiatives and activities, we at Kafal Foundation aim to create an ecosystem where Uttarakhandis come together and play their part in the development of the community and impact the life of fellow pahadis.
Srajan Spastic Society is an NGO based in Uttarakhand dedicated towards the welfare of people with neuro-muscular and developmental disabilities. The society provides different services like physical therapies, speech therapies, developmental therapies, special education, skill development for adults with disability, distribution of essential vitamins for the ones in need and creating awareness about these disabilities amongst rural population. Registered in 2006 as Child Health & Development Centre, the organization has helped more than 2000 children till date through different services and activities. Kafal Foundation has joined hands with Srajan Spastic Society to cater to the needs of people with disabilities and help them lead a happy and healthy life. Through this collaboration the foundation aims to raise funds to make available all the resources required to reach out to more such people with disabilities, to promote their inclusion in schools, colleges, technical education, to help them acquire regular jobs, to strengthen and support self-help groups of patients suffering from mental disorders and to promote community participation in taking care of people with disabilities.
Provided a new sports wheelchair to International Wheelchair Cricketer Rajendra Singh Dhami. Having his roots in Pithoragarh, Mr Dhami is the captain of Uttarakhand Wheelchair Cricket Team. He had requested a new wheelchair from the Government and also through a few fundraiser campaigns online but none could help, that is when Kafal decided to cater to his needs and provided him with a new sports wheelchair before the T20 Wheelchair Cricket Tournament between India and Bangladesh 2019.
Organized a performance by an orchestra of musicians with disability belonging to Uttarakhand.
At Kafal, the motto is to strive towards enabling the disabled and providing equal opportunities
to each member of the community. The performance by this orchestra not just gave a chance to
these skilled musicians to showcase their talent to a large audience but also helped them
promote their band on a big scale. Through such initiatives, the foundation efficiently brings the
privileged and the non-privileged sections of the community together on one platform, boosting
the spirit of brotherhood.
Joined hands with Sajjanlal Memorial Society to provide quality education to several young
students in Uttarakhand. Through this initiative, a platform is provided for capable but
economically weak students residing even in the remotest corners of the state to attain free
private coaching from proficient teachers determined to serve the society selflessly.
In the modern-day world, technology plays an active role in our life. With the advent of digitization, the field of education has undergone vast changes too. E-learning has become an essential part of educational institutes and is clearly the future ahead. To provide this E-learning experience to students deprived of such facilities, Kafal Foundation has sanctioned the equipments required to enable E-learning at Krishi Vigyan Inter College Chanoli, Almora. By providing laptop, projector and speakers to this institute the foundation intends to provide modern-day learning environment to the students studying even in the rural parts of the state.
